Frozen

Hiiyaa, I bet you thought you’ve seen the last of me.

Welp, I’ve decided to use a different approach for my blog and change it up a bit. Well no..more like a lot. I haven’t blogged in like what, 2 months? That needs a change. So here we go..again.

Today was eventful. I mean, things didn’t exactly work out like I planned and in turn I let my mind get the best of me and ended up depressing myself. So, along with one of the changes..I’ve decided not to preach to you, if that makes sense? I hope it did..but yeah. Instead I’m going to blog about my tragic events and share what I learn from them with you. Cant make all the mistakes yourself..right?

But back to the topic at hand. Today I realized that no matter how much you want for something to happen or no matter how much you think you need it to be happy, chances are: 1) It won’t happen, and 2) You more than likely don’t need it. I’m finally starting to open my eyes, as much as it hurts, in order to see that in certain situations, you have to make sure you’re happy before you worry if someone else is happy. You cant sit around in hopes that maybe your dreams or wishes will come true. It doesn’t work like that. You have to get up, dry your eyes, hold your head up, and think of yourself. If you don’t, you’ll be just like me; unhappy while the person I put above me, is.

Don’t put in more than what you’re getting out, and learn to let go. It will seem impossible but you have to be happy.

Last Day of Blogging Club

the pink cheebra

“Change is inevitable, but that doesn’t mean it’s always bad.”

*Beware of the sappy emotional post that follows*

Today is the last day I spend in Blogging Club *sigh*, yes, I’m about to leave the club that gave birth to the pink cheebra and honestly, I have to thank the head of our Blogging Club, Ms. Wilson, she is amazing and without her, this blog would be a mess 🙂 (Click here to visit her blog).

It’s the end of the term for me (Next week I’m doing work experience in the area of photography), so that means that next term there will be a set of clubs for me to choose from again. I’m not completely sure if I’ll do Blogging Club again, but never say never, right?

However, just because Blogging Club is ending doesn’t mean that this is gonna be my last post. I actually love…

Our Education System; good or bad?

Our Education System

I interviewed 15 students, 1 graduate and 1 teacher. When asked the same set of questions each of them had a different reply and a different voice of opinions.

Question:

What do you think about your school and the system your teachers use?
Is this system effective?
How does it affect you?

Person 1: "I think school could be better and I could get better grades but the way my school is, everything messes with my brain but at the same time I understand it. I wanna go to school and I wanna learn, but my teachers are crap."

Person 2: "Its alright, like I'm learning but the way the teachers are teaching, it isn't effective. School is stressful but I'm grateful for it because it creates opportunities."

Person 3: "It's ok but it needs improvement. It needs more interactive classes because personally, I learn better working with a partner. I can learn more if classes were fun."

Person 4: "This school sucks ****. The teachers are rude and they have no respect and they talk to people like dirt and they don't acknowledge you and they have no sensitivity and they can't teach. I'm pissed and I'm tired of this crap! It needs a change."

Person 5: "Teachers don't care and they don't listen. Teach yourself, it could be way better."

Person 6: "School is terrible. Teachers don't know what they're doing so I don't know what I'm doing. It just wastes 8 hours of my day."

Person 7: "School is good and teachers are smart. I want a good job so I have to go to school but still, #BallIsLife."

Person 8: "It's organized I guess, the exams I just had were stupid but I don't care."

Person 9: "Yes it's ok, you learn a lot when you pay attention and I'm grateful for it."

Person 10: "School depends on the teacher. I mean some have complex methods, others have good methods and the rest have methods which suck. I just don't understand and I care, but I just wanna get through his year and leave."

Person 11: "School is boring, garbage, stupid. It isn't fun and the teachers are dumb and when I go home I don't know what the hell I'm doing and I don't know what the hell I gotta do."

Persons 12 - 14: "School is a good thing, some people learn in different ways than others and some retain information better than others. Going home and researching the topic because you don't understand is not the teachers fault. It's always best to research the topic before hand."

Person 15: "It's not the school and it's not the teachers, it's the children that don't pay attention and don't know what to do. School doesn't bother me, I'm chilled."

Graduate: "School was cool, it was full of learning and drama. Some teachers were ratchet as hell but without some of them I wouldn't even finish some of my courses. It made me realize that even though I was lazy during my academic years it really pays off in the end."

Teacher: "Some students learn really well and others need to be pushed and told what to do. When students want to learn they will but with no cooperation they will fail. I believe it can affect them positively and negatively depending on their general well being and whether they have support at home or not or whether they are mentally challenged or stressed."

Personally, I believe that when you put your mind to something anything is possible. So to me, school isn’t a problem. Over the years our education system has improved so why is this generation complaining? Long before this generation came about, Barack Obama, Nelson Mandela, George Washington, Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy, all the doctors in the United States, all the dentists in the Caribbean, all the successful business owners in the world all went to school, graduated and became something. They did something with their lives and they didn’t complain about their teaching. Why are we?

Can our education system use improvement? Yes, but so can our attitudes towards it.

8 Ways To Balance Your Life.

8 Ways To Balance Your Life.

There’s a negative to every positive and a good to every bad. It’s like the sun to the moon, and the a.m. to the p.m. But the thing is, with those, they are equally balanced; with us as humans, we aren’t. When things get difficult we count ourselves out before we even try. Here are 8 ways to balance your life.

1. Acknowledge – Only you know what problem you are having, so instead of jumping to conclusions, really think about it. Come clean with yourself and identify all the things in your life that aren’t right.

2. Examine – Many times you lose focus of what you are aiming for so if that happens, stop. Take time and go over the areas in your life that you need to work on.

3. Plan – There is no way you can just wake up one day and cut out ALL your bad habits. Make a plan, without it you’ll be blind to all the things you need to do that you didn’t even notice.

4. Set Goals – How do you know what you want in life if you have nothing aiming for? In order to balance out your mind and keep ahead of yourself, make a list of everything you need to accomplish and then DO IT.

5. Plan Tasks – Say you have a goal; and it is going to take a year to accomplish..make another list of all the things you need to do to get you to that point at the end of the year. You have to keep your life in check or you’ll lose control over it faster than you think.

6. Reflect – Don’t go a day without remembering all the things you have accomplished. If you do, you’ll start to remember all the things you haven’t and that will cause you to be unbalanced. Badly.

7. Prepare – There is always going to be someone or something in your life that will be messing with your mind, but in order to keep control over your life, you have to prepare for this. It is more than likely going to happen & the only way to tackle it is to be ready for it.

8. Connect – Allow yourself to be smile. Balance won’t feel good if you’re putting yourself down. Think of a way to stop yourself from doing that. Maybe it’s through talking to someone, or listening to music, or throwing yourself into something productive. Whatever it is, find it and keep it and use it to your advantage.

“Without balance, a life is no longer worth the effort.”

You Are Loved.

You Are Loved.

So, I found this picture and it reminded me of suicide. Weird thought right? But really, whenever someone’s going through something they always say “but nobody loves me..” and then the person they’re talking too says “but i love you..your parents love you…you are loved.” But no one ever bothers to look beyond what the person says and think about what they’re going through as to why they think that.

Some people don’t have someone to talk too though..so they try to handle it on their own and end up believing that suicide is the only answer.

After researching and what not, I found a story about a 14 year old girl who hung herself. Another one about a 15 year old boy who shot himself in the chest after being bullied. Then another one about two teen girls (15&16) who hugged and stepped in front of a speeding train to be run over. And the last one being of a 15 year old girl who committed suicide after being gang raped and bullied.

So basically what I am saying is, don’t judge someone based on how they look, act, talk because you don’t know them. You can be really close with someone and you may still not even know them. Suicide shouldn’t have to be the only way out. It shouldn’t even be an option.

You are loved.

F.L.Y.

F.L.Y.

So..its Valentines Day & welp, its just like any other Friday.

I mean, I guess its supposed to be filled with a lot of love and what not, but forgive me if I’m wrong..how many of us are actually doing anything with someone else tonight? Like what..2 out of 10 people?

Lets love ourselves today..lets get a nice movie and some chocolate ice-cream and think of all the reasons why we are amazing. Love is all you need..it doesn’t matter who its coming from.

Find the love, go to the love, and stay where the love is.
